There is an incredible tension between a Kingdom vision for our vocation and the reality we find ourselves in. We feel this personally, and we desire to feel God’s pleasure in our work–to align our strengths and motivations to the best service of the common good. Yet we run headlong into the reality of the fallen world in which we live. We work for and with difficult people, and the shadow side of ourselves corrupts our ability to bring our best. We often get in our own way. We feel this tension in our organizations, too. There is so much power and possibility in our sectors, yet our organizational structures and cultures are dysfunctional. How do we take seriously our unique gifts, and our clear Biblical call to Kingdom activity?
